You may have seen the fake ‘please don’t print this email’ message in the footer of our website. It’s so often tacked to the bottom of corporate mails that it’s now invisible.
Think of the trees!
We’re such an environmentally responsible company – we constantly remind people to reduce paper use by putting this ‘don’t print’ reminder in everyone’s signature.
After all, it is 2009 – not the dark ages!
More annoying than this patronising reminder, is the default disclaimer companies use to say ‘nothing in this email constitutes a legal agreement’ – even if you are using email to make legal agreements!
Corporations use disclaimers to circumvent what their employees say, while claiming to empower employees to make decisions and actually do business.
